Every year, the Journal of Law in Society hosts a symposium that brings together experts engaging in moderated panels on various topics of law that impact our society.
Join us virtually in our 2022 symposium series taking place between March 9-11:
Race & Education in the United States
The Journal of Law in Society at Wayne State University will host its 2022 Symposium March 9-11. The Symposium, Race & Education in the United States, will discuss different ways that race and education interact and how those interactions affect other aspects of society.
More than 65 years have passed since Brown v. Board of Education and Brown II curtailed explicit racial segregation in American education. The civil rights battle over equal access to a quality education did not end with this decision, but rather evolved to focus on other issues such as busing, funding, the school-to-prison pipeline, and the right to literacy, among others.
Due to COVID-19, the 2022 symposium will be held online and consist of three panels over three days. Registration details for the individual events are below.
